We were looking at some trucks last week on the local dealership’s lot we have used in the past to buy for our private use. I found a General Motors pickup in green I would love to own.

I often wondered while watching all of the mess this company has been going through on the news if it is true that the government is going to keep the guarantees for a new general Motors vehicle and forhow long this coverage will last. If it is a date from the time we buy them, if a mileage marker or both, that they will determine how long they will cover them. I guess once we decide on which truck we will get; if we end up picking one of them we will find out.

The insurance I need to drive this new car is already in place, all I need to do is call my insurance company and have the new vehicle added to my private policy. The law requires that I carry liability insurance, but I carry full coverage. This way I have more coverage for each incident and bodily injury is at a higher payout. I am well covered for any possibilities.

My husband’s motor trade insurance policy is about to expire. He is waiting on a quote to continue the same policy he is carrying now. He has to have a motor trade insurance policy to cover his trucks and driver’s at all times or he would be breaking the law.

He can’t have one of his driver’s getting into an accident without some kind of motor trade insurance policy coverage in place; the cost to his business might put him out of business. It is a risk no one in their right minds would ever take. Not only would the law lay down some heavy fines against him, but the medical bills, repairs to both vehicles and whatever else might be damaged would be too huge. All of that plus any possibilities of being sued as well would kill the business completely. That would be too much to risk for his or anyone’s business, not to mention all of the people who work for that business would lose their jobs.

The motor trade insurance policy is a vital part of what my husband does for a living. The real reason he has done so well and his business has grown to employ 25 workers is in part due to his motor trade insurance policy. Accidents happen and without the right motor trade insurance we would have been out of business the first year.
